First off I want to apologise for my moodiness days ago. I got upset, something that happens from time to time. But I feel better now. Thankyou for those who supported me

Hungarian animation (and other Eastern European stuff)Well a year has passed since I joined the Masters course, and now a year later I now have an appreciation for simple animations and stories. At the start of my 2nd semester, I was urged to look at more than just the American and Japanese action cartoons I was used to seeing, so I looked at Eastern European stuff.
I looked at an animation from the USSR called
История одного преступления (Story of one Crime)
My first impression was that it looked basic and flat, but the story was simple. This inspired me to look at short stories like Aesop's Fables. My study during the Masters course was about characters and circumstances behind them but then I wanted to look at stories with morals. Afterwards I got back to American animations, but looked at stuff I didn't appreciate before, such as animations by Chuck Jones and DePatie-Freleng. It was simplicity that inspired the way I did my film,
Puupuu's Amazing BootsFrom then on I looked at other forms of foreign animation, including
Bolka i Lolka (Bolek and Lolek) from Poland and
Krtek the mole from the former Czechoslovakia. Ever since, I've had my eyes on simple animation, but I still love the action-packed cartoons I watched before

Recently, I got into Hungarian cartoons, like the series
A Kockásfülű nyúl (The rabbit with checkered ears). It is about a rabbit with long ears who sleeps in a suitcase and from a rooftop looks out for anyone who is in need and tries to help them. It can also use its ears like a helicopter propeller to fly. I admire the simplicity of this series and how no spoken words are used.
Other Hungarian animations I've watched (whether in Hungarian or not) are
Vuk (the Little Fox) (I still have to watch this one properly),
Macskafogó (Cat Catcher, called Cat City in the English version), and the two movies
Vacak - A hetedik testvér (English version - Seventh Brother) and
Vacak 2 - Az erdö höse (English version - Tiny Heroes). What's interesting about the last two is that a Mormon company called Feature Films for Families got their hands on them and made them all moral. I don't know if they were already like this when they were Hungarian. Anyway, they both tell the story of a dog pup named Tiny (Vacak in Hungary). Now I want to get my hands on these Hungarian cartoons on DVD (I have Seventh Brother and Tiny Heroes in English on DVD already, but I wouldn't mind getting the Hungarian versions); I'm a bit short on pennies right now

If you haven't seen these before, you should check them out (links to the animations are on the names). They may or may not be your thing but at least you'll get an understanding of what I got into, and you never know, you may like one of two of them

A possible blog by me?Someone suggested that I have my own blog site. At first I wondered "what could I possibly write about? I don't do much in my social life". It seems a lot of animators keep blogs. I always figured DeviantArt would be the main place where I post my things. Well I could mention the animations I've seen, like I've just done here, and my hobbies, and I could also get a bit more intellectual. That's not to say I can't do that here of course ^^ A blog is not something I've ever done before so I'd need to figure out what to do before I do it.
Money, I need money, and a job too - mmhmRight now as you know I am short on cash. I'm looking for a job to get some money before I can go further afield and get animation work. I'm told maybe there are ways to get work over the internet, at least with some foreign studios. I'm not just looking for animation work, but also illustration. That way I will have more of a chance. And who said I was only an animator anyway? I'm not sure what job I'd get in the meantime (that gives me an idea for a drawing...)
I'm doing a drawing for someone at the moment, and if that goes well I will open commissions. It's time I tried this out and stopped worrying about whether people will accept them or not or if the prices are too high.

I'd like to thank =
1337pea again for giving me a subscription

A little self-promotionTo make the best of my subscription while I still have it, here are some thumbs of my work, in particular older pieces, which I like that I want to share with others (sorry if you've seen these already):
Detailed stuff:

Comics (I wonder if I should make comics again):

I like the idea:

What if...?

Doodles and sketches (ah why not? You can't underestimate sketches):

And not forgetting stamps:

Thankyou again for looking, and feel free to comment. It's good to hear from you all
