Imagine, that not only the U.S.S.R and U.S.A. were in the Space Race, but also Nazi Germany as well.
This is a hypothetical concept of what early Nazi German astronauts might have worn, for an exploration mission to Earth's moon. I suppose this would be an advertisement of sorts (hence why it is in German and English).

Training uniform - This is a standard jumpsuit, bearing the mission logo, crew member's name, an arm patch with the German flag, and the symbol of the German astronaut division the NSRV or "National Sozialist Raum-Verband" (National Socialist Space Association)*

Spacesuit - The suit looks rudimentary, no doubt it would be at the start of the Space Race (I'm not great with designing space suits, and don't know how the mechanics of them work). The right arm bears the astronaut's name, followed by the mission logo underneath; the left arm is a patch with the German flag and the name of the country. The front of the suit has an NSRV insignia patch on it.

Mission logo - This is a specific logo for a German mission to explore Earth's moon. The text in Germanic-style writting reads "Die Erde - Das Mond - Die Sterne". 'Die Erde' (The Earth) is where Germany hopes to prevail; by 'conquering' 'das Mond' (the Moon), it would prove its superiority; and 'die Sterne' (the stars) represent Germany's future goals and aspirations. The swastika superimposed over the moon represents not only the national symbol, but also dominance.

This is by no means what I think would be a definitive design for Nazi German astronaut outfits. However, the mission logo seems to look suitable, as does the idea of a division for space exploration. Designing this concept does not denote that I condone National Socialism, support the NSDAP (Nazi Party) or any similar movement. It is for hypothetical purposes only.

Feel free to comment on the design or mention suggestions. Also, you are welcome to use or expand upon these designs if you like; no doubt you could come up with something better than this :)

* NOTE - I'm not sure if "National Socialist Space Association" in German is "Nation Sozialist Raum-Verband". If I am wrong, please let me know and I will correct it.

I like the designs, the suits are very well done =D

there are only some spelling mistakes in it
furthering the German Realm would be "Förderung des Deutschen Reichs" then

and the mission to the moon... 'nach der Mond' is not correct, but I don't know how you could correct it.. probably "Einsatz zum Mond" or so ^^;

Thanks for the comment on the designs.

I must admit, I never learned German. I'll use "Förderung des Deutschen Reichs". As for 'Mission to the Moon', would it be "Mission zum der Mond" or "Mission zum Mond"? I just used Babelfish. I'll correct the mistakes and upload it again once I'm sure.

I'm probably going to upload it yet another time again, if I come up with a suitable astronaut logo, as a replacement for the Luftwaffe logo.

Its an interesting idea, Matt. It's ironic really, If it wasn't for the V1 and V2 rockets, there would be no NASA or Soviet space program. And so we would have the satellite technology that we have today.

You're welcome ^^

It would be "Mission zum Mond" ^^ Nevermind, german is a very difficult language, and I have to say that though it's my mother tongue 8xD>

And Babelfish never translates something right, or least.. not often :XD:

I've made the corrections. Let's hope that's right.
German seems difficult, but English is not exactly easy either :)

=) It should be correct now.

Well, in my opinion, english is much easier to learn..
there are no cases like nominative case, genitive case, dative case and accusative case and you type nearly everything in small letters.
My marks from english lessons are even better than those from german lessons ^^; but that has to do with the stuff we learn in german, it's not only spelling, more german literature.. and this, I hate.
Uhum, nevermind ^^;

Im quit impress if you have seen turning point fall of liberty then could you try drawing the nazis and their wepons from the game like this

I only really did this out of curiousity, to see what an astronaut from National Socialist Germany would have looked like, if the regime was still around to compete in the 'space race' between the U.S.A. and Soviet Union. I also felt that the 'egotism' of National Socialism rivalled that of 'Communism', and that both Germany and the U.S.S.R. would want to prove their own ideology's superiority.
